Sealants

Sealant Consumption Calculator

A universal calculation for bathroom joints, window seams, skirting boards, wood, facades and other gaps.

Calculation data

Enter the joint geometry, profile shape, allowance and cartridge volume. The calculator is not tied to a specific product, so it works for any sealant.

Joint profile

Formula

  • Rectangular joint: length, m × width, mm × depth, mm = ml.
  • Triangular joint: rectangular volume × 0.5.
  • Material with allowance: volume × (1 + allowance / 100).

What to consider

  • For uneven or deep joints, allow 10-20% extra material.
  • If the manufacturer specifies another joint profile or depth limit, follow the product technical sheet.

Calculation questions

How much sealant is needed for 1 meter of joint?

A rectangular 6×6 mm joint needs about 36 ml per meter before allowance. A 280 ml cartridge covers roughly 7-8 meters of that joint.

Why does the calculator include a triangular profile?

Corner joints are often tooled as a triangle, so the actual volume is roughly half of a full rectangular fill.
